Very High Octane

I own a 1990 Buick Century with a 3300 in it, I was wondering if any harm may arise from my dad putting TWO bottles of 104+ Octane Booster in a half tank of 93 octane gas. I have noticed that the car has been running a whole lot smoother and such but I'm worried about burning a hole in the top of a piston or fryng the rings outta it. He told me he wanted to do this treatment to it about 4 more times and then it should run like new. I have a very small idea about octane levels and such but any help would be appreciated!

Re: Very High Octane

if this is helping your car then your timing is off or there's excessive carbon buildup in your combustion chamber effectively raising your compression ratio. Your engine should not be requiring premium fuel to run well.

Re: Very High Octane

hihger octane does not add power to your engine, if you put two bottles of octane booster in your tank, your engine would actually be a bit less powerfull because the higher octane takes more time to burn, althought it is pretty unnoticeable. you should be completely fine with what you are doing and if you notice a change it is possibly because there is something wrong with your car
