New Fuel Pump - Ignition Delay!

I was cruising down the freeway when all of the sudden my accelerator wouldn't respond. I looked at my dash and the engine light was on. I pulled over, had AAA tow it to a Pep Boys (closest shop) since I was 60 miles from home.

They installed a new fuel pump, which took them two days and charged me over $600 for the pump, filter, cleaning, diagnostics and labor.

Before the pump was replaced, I never had any delays in getting the engine to start...now, almost every start it takes a few seconds longer to catch.

Is the pump possibly an after market part or not the pump that fits my car? They had to order the part, so you would fogure they would have ordered the right one. Just wondering if anyone has some insight into what may be cauing this delay now.

Hence why I do all work on vehicles my self. Can't really help ya, maybe something originally went wrong with more than just the fuel pump, ya know like, When you first noticed it it wasn't just the pump.
