You are kidding yourself. That is nice that they can haul their boat to the lake and still run 12s, so can the Dodge. I don't know where you got the idea that the SRT-10 can't tow anything but they are rated at 7,500 pounds for towing. That is plenty to tow any boat down to the marina.
The SRT-10 isn't much more than the Lightning either. The SRT-10 starts at $47,000. Granted, I wouldn't buy it but I wouldn't buy the lightning either or any sport truck for that matter. However, if I were going to buy one it would be the SRT-10. Not just because my preferred manufacture is Chrysler but also because the SRT-10 is better looking in my opinion and it is faster in every aspect. It is just as practical as the Lightning is and it isn't much more expensive.
Some of you need to research things before you comment.

Exactly what I was thinking, why wouldn't the SRT-10 be able to tow a boat? And the SRT-10 can't put boxes in it.... it has a bed you know.
Anyways, all I meant was, if your going for the practicallity of a truck, why consider either of these, there purpose was for the fastest straight line truck, so if your looking for practicallity, look elsewhere.

I think you should do some research also....
First the two door Srt-10 can't tow anything the rear sway bar isn't made for and it doesn't even come optional with a tow package and if you ever look in a car magazine for it it says N/A for towing why because it can't.
The four door auto Srt-10 can tow 7500lbs but Dodge gave up trying to make it faster than the Lightning and the Srt-10 4dr can only hit 60mph in 5.5 seconds (AW). You say a Srt-10 doesn't cost much more well a Lightning can be got for $35,000 loaded so even if you take the base Srt-10 at $47,000 I guess it doesn't cost much more if $12,000 isn't much money to you.
So if you just what to go fast and not use a truck like a truck get the Srt-10, but if you ever what to haul stuff and still go to the drag strip on the weekends the Lightning is the only way to go. You know what I picked.

Good information there M3. I think another thing would be that wing Dodge put on there. It serves no purpose and just gets in the way.

I'll take a Lightning, I like the looks of them, and the performance is top notch.

You can say i'm a little biased on this. The Dodge is at least $15000 more and only 1/2 a second faster in the 1/4 mile. I know with just a little extra in the lightning it will smoke the dodge. If the next genaration lightning is priced high like the dodge I will just have to get a vette. I have a 94 and a 01 lightning. My dad bought an 01 a week after i did. My next door neighbor even got one after i took him for a ride.
