RIP IKPs
Well, my avionixx crapped out for no apparant reason (good times) and took both of my Kappa Perfect 12.1's to the brink of death. They were playing, the coils had continuity, but the resistance had risen on them a little and they sounded like shit...
So I asked myself... "What am I gonna do about this situation???"
and then the answer came to me.... plug them into a gas powered generator that was putting out 140V... good times...
Pic was taken a little while after this one died, but you can still see a little smoke coming out. this one died a pretty awesome death, sparks off the former, then fire, the whole nine yards...
They took 140V from the wall socket for atleast 15 seconds, much longer than I thought they'd last....

Woah.... frying subs for the fun of it. How'd they smell?
What're you gonna replace them with? Something from RE or AA?

Who do you think I am, CBFryman??? None of my setup is RE, nor will it ever be, I got nothing against them, I just don't want RE. AA is fine, but I'm also getting to the same point with them...
I'm getting 2 12" Incriminator Audio Lethal Injections to tide me over until I can afford 2 12" SI Magnum V2's or whatever the hell they're gonna be called...

Hehe, alright alright... I find it hilarious that he ended up getting an Avalanche. Lethal Injectors sound like a fun replacement.... what's gonna power them?

Nice they do smeel like shit when they burn, they overrate the power on those subs so badly. Put 450 to one and it completely fried it, but now i get to find something 10 times better. Nice pic though

I thought he said that died.... or does he have more than one? Sounds like a fairly decent amp to power the subs.

Yeah the Avionixx will power them, I'll be getting a new alternator just to make overly sure that it's happy, I'm also going to tell the owner of Avionixx that I want him to give me a different B-stock amp, as this one seems to be a problem child, because all the conditions were more than acceptable...
2 LI 12s with 1200 RMS for the pair, in my box should do atleast low 140s on the TL, unless I totally fuck something up... Quote:
