DVD Player Install?

I just purchased a dvd player to use with my nav system and I was trying to find some clear instruction on how to run the power wires for the player. Any help you guys can give would be gratefully appreciated.

What kind of car do you have? most nav systems require a special converter box that lets you tap the stock player to add auxillary inputs...
