started a fire!

Alright, so i come across a free PG XS-2300, so i decide i'll hook those up to my 6x9's for now. Hooked them up, sounded great. I currently have no subs in my car, an had no extras lyin around. A friend gave me a Sony p5 (i know) for free, so i took it, threw it in a sealed 1ft enclosure an hooked it up to a PA amp givin it close to 500watts. everything was coo for a bit, then i was movin stuff around cause i was changing the position of the box, on the PG amp the POWER and GROUND are right next to each other (who thought of this i dont know!), well while i was movin stuff they touched an sparked which i knew was no good, but before i could run an get a screwdriver to unhook the power wire it caught on fire. my ground wire bursted into flames an took the remote wire with it. then smoke started pouring out of the PG amp, an then out of my PA amp????? havnt found out if they work anymore, but it was alot of smoke

ummmm .... that's we fuse close to the battery - only thing that woulda happened is a blown fuse (a couple doolars at most) or popped circuit breaker

Re: started a fire!

doolars, lmao

always fuse for daily apps. be glas you didnt grab the wires to try and pull them apart or that you didnt set your car on fire.
