Anodizing is one of the electroplating setups that is actually relatively easy since it doesn't involve extremely caustic chemicals. I can't give you specifics, but I know we did it in High School chemistry class, so it can't be too bad.

There are two specific Yahoo groups devoted exclusively to electroplating. Do a search over there for it and you'll find them.
