Mustang GT vs Pontiac GTO quality debate
Why was my thread closed? Merely pointed out facts and I get flamed (go figure). Anyway, the truth is when I bought my 1995 Mustang I'd spend all night in the garage cleaning. Trust me I took good care of my car. All it took was one huge bird dropping on the roof and the paint was ruined forever and then it started to peel and fade. I'm not sure how that was my fault, when I did everything possible to keep the car in top notch condition. Trust me, I know it's Ford's quality that stinks. My sister in law's Taurus paint job virtually peeled away. BTW I still have those recall letters from Ford about my Mustang as a reminder to not ever buy one again. That $1300.00 repair was Ford's fault and they admitted it. Hmm yeah quality is job #1 Let's see, how many cruise controls are being recalled by Ford?
BTW, a Subaru WXRi will smoke a Ford Mustang GT anyday. 0-60 in lets say 4.5 seconds. Ford Mustang GT only does 0-60 in 5.1 (and that's in a way stretching it) 1/4 mile at 13.9@99 MPH. Hmmmmmm.... somehow I do recall a Pontiac GTO A34 doing 0-60 MPH in 4.6 seconds and 1/4 mile in 13.0@108 MPH. So what the Mustang is retro style, and I have already admitted Ford done a good job on design (I'll say that much). A Mustang will always outsell any other car because it's cost effective or cheap performance. There's always a trade-off. In a year you'll have a hard time finding your car in parking lot ocean of Mustangs. A better seller doesn't necessarily mean a better performer. I could care less about which one sells more, otherwise I'd buy a Honda or a Toyota.

For example, you like to fill the wheel well with a big wheel/tire combo while the car is sitting still. I like to fill it with a smaller wheel/tire combo by compressing the suspension in a corner. whatever floats your boat...
