Creating test tones

Does anyone know of a program that will let you make an MP3 of just a single frequency? I'd like to try my system out at various frequencies, to see where transitions from sub to midbass to midrange to tweeters are. I'm wondering if that program ACID would do it. I've tried "finale", "band-in-a-box" and something that came with my sound card (soundblaster something or other), but I can't figure out how to get just one tone with them.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: Creating test tones

Where's that dBJams thing? The search didn't turn up any places to download it. I found a few places on the the internet that had places to download it after paying for it, but I'm looking for free stuff, that's just a single tone.

How much can it cost to make a single tone for thirty seconds anyway?

Re: Creating test tones

the tones that NCH makes are at -12dB, fine for what you want but whatever you do DON'T use them for setting the gains. I use Goldwave personally

Thanks for the offer Lda, but I'm really looking to create my own.

I've not heard of Audition, Brandish, thanks! I'll see if I can find it anywhere.
