Discussion Title: Definition of STS...

Definition of STS...
Ok... ive heard many definitions of 'STS'
1) meaning northstar V8 from a Caddy STS
2) Squires Turbo Systems
3) Short Throw Shifter
I've heard all 3 of these used although there is no doubt of thier meanings. WHICH ONE IS IT???????

STS is an option package on the Cadillac Seville which means Sports Touring Sedan.

Thats what i originally thought, but i noticed that a few other people have understood it to mean other things.

It's the replacement for the old "Seville". And yes, it means Sports Touring Sedan.

For some years in the '90's the STS did not replace the Seville, it was the Seville. While some regarded it as a stand-alone model at the time, most came with both STS and Seville nametags on the trunk lid.
Sevilles came in 2 versions, STS and the base model called SLS (Seville Luxury Sedan). The base model had more stainless trim, cushier suspension and a slightly lower price.
